Barbara Kessler

Barbara is a passionate performer, quickly rising from opening act to main stage performer. Her debut CD, “Stranger To This Land,” won a Boston Music Award for Best New Folk/Acoustic Album. She has received national and international acclaim, winning awards from folk festivals such as Kerrville, Telluride, and Rocky Mountain Folks, and receiving airplay on Sirius/XM and Mountain Stage. Barbara's music has been featured on TV shows like “NCIS,” “JAG,” and “One Life to Live,” and her song “Dreaming My Way Home” introduced her to a global audience.

Famed drummer Jerry Marotta produced her second album, “Notion,” which was praised for her versatile soprano voice. The title track was included in Putumayo’s 1996 compilation, “Women’s Work.”

After years of sharing the stage with artists like the Indigo Girls, Shawn Colvin, and Dar Williams, Barbara paused her touring career in 2000 to focus on her family. During this time, she evolved her songwriting and ventured into improv and musical theater, even working as a double in the film “The Ghosts of Girlfriends Past.” https://www.barbarakessler.com
